Welcome to the Lamar Middle School & Fine Arts Academy Dance Department

The Lamar Dance Department is part of the award-wining Lamar Fine Arts Academy.

The Lamar Dance Department provides opportunities for dance at every level - beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Ballet classes are also offered.

For those dancers interested in the most comprehensive and performance opportunities, the Lamar Dance Company is available, by audition, to 7th and 8th graders.

The Lamar Dance Company will participate in a collaborative event with MAC Dance at McCallum High School.  During the collaboration students will receive a tour of the campus, learn about the dance program, and participate in creating group choreography. Students will miss all of 5th, 6th, and part of 7th period.  Students will be responsible for all missing assignments. Please read the detailed schedule below.

8:30am-Students are dropped off at McCallum High School and report to the main office. (5600 Sunshine Dr.)

9am-11:00am-Students will participate in a campus tour and work with the McCallum Dance majors on a collaborative project

11:15am-11:30am-Return on an AISD Bus to LamarTime : TBA
